I know that England is the origin of modern football. What I’ve just know is that the oldest football club is not a member of English Premier League.

The Oldest Football club is an amateur club named Sheffield FC, which is less known than their neighbor Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United.

Founded on October 24 - 1857, They have never played at a professional level. At that time , the main purpose of the club is to keep themself active during the winter.

Currently they play in the Unibond League’s First Division South, seven divisions below the English Premier League.

At 2004 FIFA presented Sheffield FC with “Order of Merit“, an honor previously awarded only to the nine-time European champions Real Madrid.
